I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
